Jordan borders Saudi Arabia to the north-west. Its star is Petra, the Nabataean capital whose Treasury (Al-Khazneh) is carved straight into rose-coloured rock. If you visit Hegra in AlUla, seeing Petra completes the Nabataean story. Fly Riyadh to Amman and drive about three hours south, or fly to Aqaba.
